You chose the shingles, and the date is nearing. Your roof installation will be complete before you know it! Below are a few things you can do to prepare your home and family for the installation process.
- Make a Plan for Pets- If you have cats, dogs, or other pets in your home, the extra noise may disturb or scare them. You may want to relocate them to a friend or neighbor’s home for the time being. They will be safe, out of the yard, and out of the noisy house away from it all.
- Remove Important Wall Décor- If there are things on your walls, especially on upper floors, that could fall off and break, remove them. Place them on the bed, the floor, or in another safe location. Roof installation causes a lot of vibrations, and the walls can shake and move things around a bit.
- Cut Back Bushes- Roofers will need to be able to place ladders against the house to access the roof. It’s nice to have the bushes trimmed around the house so they can easily get up and down those ladders. It helps them to find and remove nails that have fallen later, too.
